We are a collaborative group of licensed counselors committed to providing ethical, accessible, and compassionate mental health care to the Appalachian community. Our team brings diverse training and perspectives while sharing a common belief in the importance of thoughtful, relationship-centered therapy. We strive to create a welcoming space where individuals, couples, and families feel supported and respected.
Mattie Brown
Mattie works with individuals & relationships (polyamorous and traditional) ages 14 and up. Her areas of focus are with persons struggling with PTSD and emotional regulation, LGBTQ+ issues, religious deconstruction, and neurodiversity.

Kirsten Higgins
Kirsten specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families navigating divorce, high-conflict coparenting, blended family dynamics, and stepparenting challenges. She also has experience working with child and adolescent behavior issues, reunification cases, and couples. She provides individual, couples, family, and coparenting interventions.

Rachel Pearson
Rachel enjoys working with individuals 18 and older who are navigating life transitions. She has experience supporting people living with anxiety and depression, as well as those who want to improve healthy communication, develop and maintain boundaries, and strengthen their coping skills. Rachel also has some experience working with neurodivergent individuals and people with intellectual disabilities. In her work, Rachel draws from a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. 423-218-2163 rachel@mountainhavencc.com
